Hot Dog!

I know Bailey girl doesn't look very happy. I think that's because I recruited her to join me in my workout routine of walking for an hour every morning starting this past Tuesday. She's done in. I only have to move two legs and I'm beat. I can only imagine how she feels with four! How cute is she though? We rescued her from the pound in Clarksville, TN about 4 1/2 years ago and she's been a great addition to the family. Her only flaw is that she doesn't get along with other dogs. It's like Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde. I think it's Napoleon complex. She's much worse with dogs that are bigger than her. I guess it's too much to ask for looks and brains too. I love the colors of this yarn. It's Lamb's Pride Superwash that I bought in white to dye. It actually has a blip of brown all through it. I hadn't heated it enough (afraid I'd turn it into plastic - gotta be careful with superwash) and couldn't get it to stop bleeding. Finally wrapped it up in saran wrap and stuck it in to steam with an autumn colors batch that was dyeing. Oops. Didn't seal it well enough. You can't even tell though. I alternated the four skeins all the way through and can't even find the brown now. She's gonna need a thicker one. This isn't going to get her through the winter here come another month or so. That means I'll have to buy some more yarn. I have a responsibility to take good care of her, right?



In my depression over missing the fun at Rhinebeck I swung by my local yarn shop today and bought this for the Bannister socks for Six Socks. It's about time I cast on since everyone else seems like they are about done. Always a day late and a dollar short.

You aren't the only one who is behind on the fluted bannister socks. I've only got about an inch done on the cuff. I am usually pretty good of getting the cuffs done and then letting them languish when I hit the foot. LOL Take care. I've enjoyed reading your blog.

Bailey looks so sweet in her coat, my Lab is too big for a coat, I think he might sulk if I dressed him up. That sock yarn is a great colour.

Bailey looks pretty snazzy in her sweater!! I love the color of the Regia sock yarn. I have never knit with that yarn, and I will have to try it!

Ooooo you have to check out this book!!! "The Gift Knitter" it is 1/2 baby patterns and 1/2+ little dog sweaters and toys!!!! It is lovely for the pup knitter!!! it is by Tara Jon Manning. There is one amazingly cute felted dog sweater!! TTFN :)

What a cutie Bailey is and such a sweet sweater!! You are going to love working with that Regia Silk. My Secret Pal (who is from Germany) sent me some in the same color as yours and guess what.......they are my Fluted Banister Socks too.....or at least it will be when I am finished . I wish we could get some of that here in the States as it is Lovely stuff!!!

Bailey is adorable! And my bichon, Cotton is the same way with other dogs. When I walk him he snarls and growls at any (bigger) dog that walks by. Embarrassing! Thanks for your comment on my site~ I love your blog & I'm adding you to my list.

Thanks, Heather. Highland wool is definitely going to break the bugdet. That'll be my Rhinebeck make-up. If you saw my stash of Regia sock yarn you'd know I had no business buying two more balls today! Couldn't help it. It was just so purdy sitting there in front of the cash register. Well... I did need a solid color to show off the pattern in the socks... yea... that's the ticket!

The pattern is from Stitch 'n Bitch and it's written for three sizes. I did hers as the largest which was 24" around the chest behind her front legs.

Pattern details, please? Bailey looks to be about the same size as Bud, our Chihuahua/Jack Russell mutt from Tri-Valley Animal Rescue. He's been shivering the past few mornings and I want to make him a nice wooly sweater (even though he has polar fleece ones, a wool one will be so much nicer).

Bailey is stunning! And you are absolutely right about HAVING to buy yarn to provide her with a warmer sweater! Maybe some Highland wool? (hint,hint,hint) Are you sure that's enough yarn to make up for not going to Rhinebeck? I'm thinking it warrants a few more skeins. ;)
