Hot Chocolate Time!!

Tea_steaming_sm_nwm  Time to break out the hot chocolate!  Look what we woke up to this morning in Bavaria:

Snow Yep... that's the white stuff.  I've never seen it snow this early in Germany and this will be my ninth winter in this country.  I think we're in for a doozy.

Luckily for the kids, it's five days off starting tomorrow.  Teacher Parent conferences and Veteran's Day.

Order Remember the photo of the Highland Wool Command Central Planning table last week?  The order already arrived!  One week from the West Coast to Germany!  It sure doesn't look like that much yarn, does it?  The bad part is some of the colors aren't going to work.  The good part is I'll have to order more!  It's a necessity, right?  It's not worth the postage to send back the ones that don't work out and I don't want to clog up the Postal System this close to the Holidays.  So I'll do my part, sigh, and just hold on to the extras.

Boys_snow Here's two of my guys arriving home from school.  They didn't even come in the house.  Handed me their stuff and left.  That snow is awfully wet.  Better go put some water on to boil...

Comments

Hi Jean! Debbie here from Kerstin's comments. I was so surprised that you wrote a comment to me on Kerstin's blog. I am so sorry that you were offended about me writing about not taking the sock yarn. I wasn't even thinking that it was a pay-of or anything else. I thought it funny that Kerstin was writing about de-stashing because that is exactly what I was doing in my craft room when I read her blog. I am so sorry that you may have taken it the wrong way. Please accept my heartfelt apologies...I wish that you knew me because most would say that I am sensitive to others and don't intentionally hurt others feelings...Especially one who I though wrote a comment that I truly felt came from the heart. Thank you!! I loved how you wrote your views and wished that I could express my sentiments so clearly. It has been so interesting to read all the comments on her blog. I hate to say this but I am not very knowledgable when it comes to politics. I get busy w/my family, work, hobbies, etc that I am embarressed to say that politics is not one of my favorite things to talk or write about. I can't even believe I wrote something on her blog much as less yours. I was just getting tired of everyone's comments being so negative about Bush supporters...so I wrote and I was surprised that I didn't get blasted at. Kerstin wrote a comment back to me through her blog about how soldiers didn't have bullet-proof vests and were not properly trained for the conditions there and that most Bush supporters didn't know anything about what was going on over there while they beat their war drums!? Hmmm...I'm just sorry I wrote a comment because I don't think I need to justify my vote to people that have such strong opinions and probably aren't really interested in mine... So, sorry to write so long. I have never read your blog before but it looks nice. I also hope your husband and son stay well and they return home soon...I'll write another comment on Kerstin's blog w/my apology to you. Please feel free to e-mail me if you wish. Happy Knitting, Debbie
We had a lttle snow yesterday too, but a little further up the mountain, it was really COLD though, definitely hot chocolate weather. Cool yarn colours, I haven't ordered any YET!!
Jean, Thank-you so very much for your post on Kerstin's blog. Her objective is to start a dialogue, not a one-sided rant, so I hope you continue to share your opinions and insight. I may be a member of her choir, but we can't accomplish much if we don't know what really is going on in the hearts and minds of those we don't understand. Your comments are the first ones I've seen from a Bush supporter that did not include name-calling and did include honest explanation. Keep it up. ps- This is my first visit to your web site. Love the pictures and the great knitting.
Thank you for your comment on Kerstin's blog. It is just that type of dialogue I have wanted. We can agree to disagree, but it is so helpful (and in some way, soothing) to know what your heartfelt point of view is based on. May your husband and son keep from harm's way and be with you soon.
WOW! Snow already! I'm not looking forward to our turn at all. I'm sorry your elann yarn didn't work out but you're right about not clogging up the postal system during the holidays. It's very considerate of you to be thinking of others. :-)
