Sing T! Sing!

Update on 17 Feb ** My bandwidth skyrocketing because of a certain name so from now on I'll refer to him by his initials only and will republish my blog entries doing the same with his name***

Last week I told you how much we enjoyed T.H.'s audition on A I.  What I didn't tell you was that I emailed him to let him know how impressed we were and that Dan and I were rooting for him from this side of the big pond. He wrote back immediately thanking us for serving in the military and offering to send his CD!  It arrived today and I LOVE it!!  His voice has so much soul it gives me goosebumps.  I love that he's real and doesn't try to fit the cookie-cutter mold that AI seems to bring out. Talented and such a nice guy to boot.  We're rooting for you, T!!  Sing your heart out!  I think he's going to make it just fine even if it isn't on American Idol.

In case you missed it, here's his first day in Hollywood.  Even Simon admitted that he liked him this time.  I don't know why I thought it was Paula that didn't like him at the auditions.  It was Simon, still on his "Idol Look" kick.  You think he would have learned by now.

Okay... Knitting:

Braids_1

I found this partially knitted sweater back in my stash when we moved here.  It's the big oversized cardigan from Knitting in America (republished as America Knits) knit in a Classic Elite silk/wool blend.  The problem is that I saw this as one of those projects I'd never finish. I sold the leftover yarn on Ebay years ago.  What a moron I am sometimes.  I so know that I'd finish it now if I had the yarn.  So.  I think with just a little bit of work I have a great sweater for Aggie here.  I'll just make a little strap to go across her belly and start knitting a little ribbed neck in the round at the top.  Stay tuned...

I'll be cheering on all you Knit Olympians and don't forget about my contest for the Preemie Project (click on the basket in the top my left-hand sidebar).

I am so jealous that you have the Taylor Hicks CD! I haven't heard Georgia on my Mind and the weblinks I've been given don't work. Could you send me the song? I'd be forever grateful. Mona ramonas@gmail.com
I'm very envious of your trip to London. Thanks for the heads up on the hotel. Maybe one day we will get back there. Good luck to you & your husband. I'm rooting for Taylor too. Reminds me of Elvis, a little!
I'm with you on the Taylor Love! I'm glad he sent you his CD. He obviously has a kind heart and that is a good thing! Love your knitting! That sings too! :)
I loved hearing Taylor Hicks too. Several men sang that song and some were pretty good, but his was the only one where you could really "feel" it. My hubby and I are wondering how many episodes it will be before the stylist has him dyeing his hair. Keeping you and your family in my prayers as Dan prepares to go next week!
Awesome! Are we gonna see you in the front row of his first concert being a groupie? How sweet, a sweater for Aggie.
Taylor seems much more relaxed in this clip than his first audition. I think he's only going to get better. Good idea for the sweater. It's a shame to not to use it for something.
I've always loved that Kristin Nicholas pattern. That is so sweet that he mailed you a cd!! I thought of you when he was on Wednesday night.
I keep wanting to knit Pearl a doggie sweater - yes, I know Labs don't *need* them. What a good way to do it. The wheels in my mind are turning! :) After the Olympics, though.
Wonderful!! I'm looking forward to seeing Taylor perform! Aggie is going to have one nice doggie sweater!
